i came into being on a cold cleveland january day in 1977. as early as i can remember, i have lived in perpetual confusion regarding a life focus. i was such a driven child that i always wanted to do "better" than others, no matter what the subject matter, even since the age of 2- when i began to file away memories. i've been self-diagnosed with overachiever sydrome and have the early grey hairs to prove it. while i have had many interests, hobbies, and talents, currently i focus my non-work time on the following: performing and writing music, learning new musical instruments, noise- heavy metal- and tons of music, meeting people in my new home of denver, CO, maps as art, astronomy, sci-fi, tattoos, cooking and fine dining (mostly vegetarian), good cheese wine and beer, photography and photo editing, web design, digital art, Sudoku puzzles, dream analysis, globalization/ suburban sprawl, world peace, hedenism, thrift stores, physical and cultural anthropology, linguistics, exercising, self-improvement, problem solving, card games, drawing, poetry and writing, npr and the onion, homestarrunner.com, myspace (yeah i'll admit it). after spending my entire life living in ohio, i moved to denver, colorado in august of 2006 with my equally eclectic partner, abraham normal. we were both seeking better surroundings and more opportunities for enrichment and we are definitely doing better than we were in wooster, ohio. for one thing, the weather on average is much better, and the increased sunshine is good for my soul. and we are living right in a major metro area, withing walking distance from great bars, restaurants, concert clubs, shops, etc. that has been an even bigger improvement in our lives, even moreso than the beautiful mountain sunsets! abe has just completed his first year of graduate school at denver university. he is an excellent student and reads more than just about anyone i know....which should serve him well in his eventual pursuit of his PhD. currently i am a multi instrumentalist playing synth, 7 string guitar, melodica, sitar, and vocals for The Future is Broken. during the day i'm a Lean Manufacturing Engineer at an aerospace company. i get to do a little industrial design, engineering planning, performance measures, and process improvement....and work on things that go into space! |
